Derek attained a beekeeping certificate following a 6-week course at Applebee Apiary, with John Everett Master Beekeper in Spring 2024. Both Derek and Liz are members of Norwich & District Beekeepers’ Association, which is affiliated to the Suffolk Beekeepers’ Association.
At Hethersett Hives, we aim to provide a healthy environment for the bees in their two WBC hives, using organic treatment for varroa management. We produce 100% pure local honey which is unprocessed, with no additives. We follow BBC Good Food guidance for sterilizing and cleaning of equipment. The hives themselves are situated within their plot with a variety of pollinating fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers growing throughout the season.
